Joana, UP ICE Intern Batch 2

“The internship experience with JCVA allowed me to enhance my technical skills, learned essential soft skills, and gave us the opportunity to be enlightened with the career paths we could pursue in the future. It also helped me to realize my strengths and weaknesses, and to overcome my fears of entering a workplace or industry. Overall, I gained a lot of learnings, and this internship gave me the overview of the reality that civil engineering discipline is broad and that learning doesn’t stop when you graduate in your academics.”

Ryan, UP ICE Intern Batch 2

“Overall, JCVA’s internship was an eventful and insightful experience, as it provided us with actual work opportunities related to civil engineering. It focused on construction and project management, which gave us an overview on how the different fields and aspects of construction are implemented on site. In fact, we observed the importance of each member in the project management team, how activities are implemented on site, and how to properly inspect them. Our supervisors served as our mentors, as they patiently guided us along our internship, explaining the importance of every task done on site, which allowed us to appreciate construction management more.”
